We stayed in a cabin for 2 nights. It's in a remote location, but Barb and Jim have a really special place. They couldn't be nicer and Tiki, the attention-hungry macaw, was a hoot. I think this was our favorite place of the 3 places we stayed in Costa Rica. It's fairly "off the grid" so don't expect cell phones... more

From the moment we arrived Jim and Barb made us feel completely at home. Barb soon introduced us to the families of marmosets that are being cared for in their Children Saving the Rain Forest sanctuary. We even had a warm welcome from Tiki, the resident parrot! Our room had an amazing view of the mountains and rain forest and... more

Because Barb, Jim and the people that help them made our 3 night stay at the Blue Banyon Inn so special, we rarely left the property. Our visit to them was between 5 nights in the Drake Bay area and 3 nights in Monteverde. We had researched many places to visit in and around Quepos, but except for one morning... more

My son and I stayed here during our travels throughout Costa Rica. The cottages are beautiful and really designed well. They are spacious airy and have great views. It is a little off the beaten path but well worth the trip. There are only three cottages and an extremely large nicely built custom swimming pool. The atmosphere is as if... more

First of all, I must apologize for waiting for so long to write this review. We had an absolutely wonderful time at the Blue Banyan. I traveled with my husband and 7 yr. old daughter. The views were spectacular, the cottage was modern and clean, the water was hot, and the air was cold... what more could you ask for?... more

With the combination of the beautiful setting and Barb and Jim and hosts, you really can't go wrong. We just spent the greater part of our honeymoon at the Blue Banyan and would gladly do it again any day! Every day we were they we felt lucky that we made the decision to stay there. If you go to the... more

Trip Advisor has always been an invaluable resource to find out the truth about a place. This last trip the reviews were right on target. I have stayed in Manuel Antonio before at a high-end hotel (Manuel Antonio is more expensive than nearby Quepos) and paid a fortune. The Blue Banyan Inn beats any hotel I have seen in the... more

Just returned from CR with my kids where we stayed 2 nights at Blue Banyan. I could've spent the entire week there. Yes it is off the beaten path, but that is what makes it so special. The little 5 speed rental car was just fine to get us to and from Quepos for dining and shopping. The view from... more

I wasn't sure that any hotel could be worth it from the treacherous road required to get to the inn, but it totally was. Three lovely cottages on tons of land meant that we felt like we had the place all to ourselves. Tons of room in our place with nice, separated areas to make it feel more like home.... more

We spent 3 nights at the Blue Banyan Inn (April 19, 20 & 21) in the middle of our first trip to Costa Rica. What a wonderful, relaxing, beautiful and friendly place to stay! Barb and Jim were so welcoming and helpful. Our family of 5 occupied one of the spacious, well decorated cabinas, another was occupied by another family... more
