Your money is going to a good cause, but this place needs to improve. An ant colony in our room (sure we're in the tropics - ants are expected... just now everywhere!) We asked to change and the owner (or who I perceived to be the hotel owner) insulted my wife! There was also the poor service at the restaurant... more

I recently stayed at Mono Azul on a family trip to Costa Rica. Based on the reviews, I was expecting a quaint, clean hotel experience. When we arrived, we were very disappointed with what we saw. The hotel was unkempt and dirty. There was a pool with a workout area consisting of a rusty weight bench and a broken bicycle.... more

We stayed two nights at Mono Azul, because of the recommendation from Frommers and the enviromental description. The restaurant is expensive and the cuisine is not good. The rooms are ok, but one the nights was noisy. (As we can hear everything, in the room without air-conditioner) It appears to be cheap, but with taxes and service that they inc... more

Great place. On the hill outside Quepos, and right next to a bus stop that takes you into Quepos or Manuel Antonio. The rooms were simple but clean, and the grounds are spectacularly lush. We did loose power twice for about 10 minutes each time, which means no water as well, but apparently that happened to everyone in the area... more

I liked that the hotel is affiliated with the kids saving the rainforest cause which is the primary reason we stayed. we stayed in one of the villas which were spacious but smelly and dirty. It was a good price but is not convenient to the beach. Also, while walking with a staff member from the main building to the... more

I just finished staying at the Mono Azul for one month. This hotel has all basic needs. Clean and Comfortable. My story... I was not happy with my accomadation I originally had elsewhere. I had chosen to eat lunch here at the Mono Azul and by the time I had finished I decided I would spend the next month there.... more

We stayed at hotel mono azul for three nights during a trip to CR. First off, the negatives - be sure to negotiate prices, especially if you're going during the green season! We agreed to a room costing $70 a night, just to arrive with a sign at the door saying that we could 'negotiate our own price' but since... more

I loved my experience at the hotel! The staff were very attentive, the service was great, and the food in the restaurant was delicious and fresh. The hotel has great room rates as well as clean rooms, mine had cable TV, a/c, patio, bathtub (a rarity in the area) and high ceilings! I was really surprised at how much less... more

My son and I stayed here for two nights in early June. We arrived after a long five hour drive, the last couple of hours in the rain, from Arenal. We parked our car and ran inside to check in. Beatriz, the front desk clerk couldn’t find our reservation and asked for our confirmation. My son ran back to the... more

The hotel is average at most. After staying in some beautiful lodges around Costa Rica, Mono Azul was a bit of a disappointment. Rooms are very simple, almost bare, bungalow - type, staff could be described as not interested - you get the feeling that if they do anything for you it is to get a tip, not to genuinely... more

Thank you so much for you comments! We did not know about Trip Advisor and the ability to respond to customers reviews. We are so glad that we can read the reviews because we now have a way to improve our services. We did not know that our employees were at times not interested in our guests. Because of your...
