A friend and I went to Costa over Halloween and let me say...greatest idea in a long time. We chose not to stay at the Rey due to a friend explaining the place to me, brothel pretty much so I figured probably a little nasty to sleep and shower in. We stayed at the sleep inn right behind the Rey.... more

I just came home today & I miss it already. I'd like to thank the entire staff there for making my vacation great. I'd like to especially thank Sanez (who always seem to know what I want for lunch and dinner), Javiar( who thinks I look like Bob Marly and handles problems quickly and always with a smile), Carlos( who... more

Costa Rica is the only country stamped on my passport and the Del Rey is the only place I have stayed for the last 8 years. Great staff, service and location. This place is going 24 hours a day. Don't bring sand (your girlfriend/wife) to the beach. Many locals there to welcome and attend to your every need. Also great... more

Not recommended for families, the lobby of this hotel is packed 24 hours with working girls, I mean it's the headquarters of prostitution in San Jose, Central and pretty safe security is tight , however at night do not walk alone from there , always take a taxi usually parked outside all day and night. more

As you arrive to this quaint really unimpressive structure, atleast compared to any South Beach or Las Vegas resort, it soon dawns on you what you've really gotten into. There really is no other way to spend a bachelor party. The ratio of female to male is roughly 10 to 1 & at night almost 15 to 1. The girls,... more

This is a large, well-run hotel with a small casino, several restaurants and bars and a good tour desk. It is extremely busy and noisy with a constant hum though, as it doubles up as the meeting place 24/7 for all those looking for a decent bar and interesting people watching. It is a bit more expensive than other hotels... more

Best hotel for a single man wanting gambling, drinking, music and "local ladies". Not good for couples, honeymooners or family. I've been here 3 times and have always been impressed. Caution: Prostitution is legal in Costa Rica and the lobby and bar has its full - but this hotel ensures that every girl admitted is over 18 and has a... more

Two years ago, I was to meet people in San Jose, Costa Rica and as it was, I spent 5 days on my own at The Del Rey. I was a bit concerned about the safety buy I must admit, security is very good. I had an idea that prostitution was accepted in Costa Rica, but The Del Rey is... more

This hotel is located in the central downtown area of San Jose. The hotel is within walking distance to some decent shopping (specialty shops and outdoor flea markets style) and a few parks. The hotel is strictly an "Adult Only" hotel. This place is NOT for families or newly weds. The rooms are well kept and clean; however they are... more

I've been to Costa Rica more than 10 times to visit my ex-wife family, so I know my way around pretty well.. The first time I stayed at the Del Rey was right after I got a divorce.. The place is packed with the most beautiful women in the world. It's jusy crazy on Fri and Sat nights. I've been... more
