There's not really many hotel options in Raiatea, so we tried to go the pension route (usually family run deals) and went to Pension Tepua (about 15-20 mins from Hawaiki Nui). Big mistake. It was run by a very grouchy french woman named Guyanne. Long story short, the place was filthy and had some sort of termite nest in our... More

After wonderful days spent in moorea and borabora we arrived to this overpriced, rundown dump of a place. The overwater bungalow is a disgrace. Not only it is totally run down with tiles from the 50s breaking off, mold and dirt everywhere, but it was bug infested. In the 15 minutes we spent in it we saw two roaches. No air... More

We stayed in an overwater bungalow for 2 nights during September 2010. It was important for us to see Taputapuatea Marae, that was our only reason for visiting the island. When we arrived Europcar Raiatea informed us that they had no record of our reserving a car and that they had none available (they HAD confirmed to me by email).... More

This somewhat run down property is located on a narrow land strip on the east side of Raiatea island directly along the main belt road making most of its garden rooms and bungalows quite noisy. However, overwater units are in so bad shape they would not fit the less demanding guest either. Maintenance and keeping up are unknown words for... More

Be aware that Raiatea is a very popular destination for cruise ships, which will make it hit or miss for your visit. The advantage being that when cruise ships are in town, everything is generally open - so you can find places to dine, do some shopping, and even cash travelers checks at the local bank. The down side is,... More

We have been to this hotel before 3 years. Very little has changed. The island and its people are very nice. It is a contrast to Bora Bora and Moorea that need to be experienced as a part of a visit to FP. The hotel staff is accommodating without having to pay 4 seasons prices, and whats more you feel... I stayed at this Hotel as an HD film maker during the Pearl Regatta. Pierre Dinard not only was the Host of the Regatta, but the manager of this Hotel. There aren't any International Chain Hotels on Raiatea. Just Charming, Provencial Hotels. French Polynesia is a French speaking place. It is always a good idea to learn at least some... More

My husband and I went to French Polynesia for our honeymoon. We stayed on Moorea, Raiatea, and Bora Bora. Moorea was our absolute favorite, while the Hawaiki Nui on Raiatea literally made me wish I was back at WORK! We decided to go to Raiatea to go off the beaten track, something we always try to do on our vacations.... More

We stayed here two nights before heading out on a two week sailing trip. Our groups stayed in a partially overwater bungalow, standard rooms and a garden suite. All of them were comfortable but i would opt for the bungalows over the rooms as they are special. Interesting bathrooms. Beautiful grounds. Excellent snorkeling right on the property. The restaurant was... More
