We have been to this hotel before 3 years. Very little has changed. The island and its people are very nice. It is a contrast to Bora Bora and Moorea that need to be experienced as a part of a visit to FP. The hotel staff is accommodating without having to pay 4 seasons prices, and whats more you feel... more

I stayed at this Hotel as an HD film maker during the Pearl Regatta. Pierre Dinard not only was the Host of the Regatta, but the manager of this Hotel. There aren't any International Chain Hotels on Raiatea. Just Charming, Provencial Hotels. French Polynesia is a French speaking place. It is always a good idea to learn at least some... more

My husband and I went to French Polynesia for our honeymoon. We stayed on Moorea, Raiatea, and Bora Bora. Moorea was our absolute favorite, while the Hawaiki Nui on Raiatea literally made me wish I was back at WORK! We decided to go to Raiatea to go off the beaten track, something we always try to do on our vacations.... more

We stayed here two nights before heading out on a two week sailing trip. Our groups stayed in a partially overwater bungalow, standard rooms and a garden suite. All of them were comfortable but i would opt for the bungalows over the rooms as they are special. Interesting bathrooms. Beautiful grounds. Excellent snorkeling right on the property. The restaurant was... more

Really enjoyed our stay at this small comfortable hotel. Staff were wonderful and always willing to help with whatever you needed. We stayed in a Premium overwater bunglalow which has a large king bed and a smaller bed off to the side. Perfectly adequate room and bathroom but very basic. We did not have problems with mosquitios but were always... more

We had a great time at the Hawaiki Nui Pearl Beach Resort. After staying at the Manihi Pearl and Bora Bora Pearl for 3 days each, we had to extend our honeymoon in FP for two more days. The Bora Bora Pearl was nice, but quite large and a bit artificial, and since we had already experienced Manihi (which was... more

Here's where overwater bungalows with windows in the floor got their start! There is a special charm to staying in one of the first overwater bungalows and watching colorful fish swim in the coral heads below you. But charming only goes so far: these bungalows are in need of an update. They lack air conditioning and bug screens on the... more

We spent 3 nights at the Haiwiki Nui for our honeymoon after a few days on Bora Bora. We'll break our review into different sections. SETTING - Raiatea is definitely a quiet island. There is one small town (Uturoa) with a couple supermarkets, a little bit of shopping, a cruise ship dock, an internet cafe, and a small number of... more

We had chartered a boat from Sunsail and had sailed for 8 days enjoying Tahaa, Hunahine, and Raiatea. Came back for a few nights in different locations and wanted a small quiet place rather than the tourist destination. We had reserved a garden room and were pleasantly surprised to be upgraded to an over the water bungalow. It was wonderful!... more
