First off, this is not a downtown Manhattan Hilton hotel and this review does not make any comparissons to that.
This review is about a small house on a desserted island and the experiance staying at such.
The trip over the lagoon is splendid and safe in a large steel hull boat.
The beach itself is marvelous white and garbage free. Walking the shoreline one could see lots of fish who wants to come up and take a look at you. Stonefish exists in the Aitutaki lagoon so reef shoes are recomended.
There is only 2 lodges on the island so if you are lucky you will be alone on the island except for the caretake but if you stay for a few days you may get to be completly alone.
The house itself is nice and conveniant, it is good enough for your stay which will be mostly on the beach or exploring the island or neighbour islands.
For the price of one of the regular 3-star resorts on the main island you can have an island to yourself and indulge in the luxury of quiteness...

There is a kayak that you can borrow and go to adjacent islands that are truly uninhabited. The reef is a five minute walk away with the best snorkling around Aitutaki.

The lodge itself is a converted terminal for the cross-Pacific flying boats of early last century. There is a stand-alone kitchen, supplied with utensils, stove and fridge. Sound perfect?

Now the bad. The mosquitos are horrendous. They will get inside the house because the screens are not maintained and...
