We stayed at the Ridgewood for our honeymoon this August, and my wife and I agreed that we couldn't have asked for a better vacation. The Sidelingers are some of the most kind people we have ever met and, despite the desire to spend some time together (it was our honeymoon after all) we found ourselves staying up after dinner... more

Ridgewood has it all---food, scenery, activities and best of all the nicest family to welcome you. I only wish we could have stayed longer. We have been to Alaska four times now and are really happy that we found this place on the internet because it was our finest stop. more

If your concept of a wilderness lodge is first class accomodations with gourmet meals, this is the place for you. The location is also a great advantage with the wilderness being only a 30 minute ferry ride from Homer. They offer a large variety of activities which we found both enjoyable and educational. Lucinda and Kevin are excellent hosts and... more

Staying at the Sidelingers' lodge is like staying with family. They take care of your every need, with incredible knowledge and experience about one of the most spectacular spots in the world, Halibut Cove. They will tailor your experience to whatever interests you have. We took a wonderful hike, kayaked next to a gorgeous glacier, and had gourmet quality meals... more

The Ridgewood Wilderness Lodge is a fantastic place to stay if you are looking for something a little different. Halibut cove is a great place to stay to see a unique view... more

We spent 4 nights at Alaska's Ridgewood Wilderness Lodge in July 2009 with our two 11 year old girls. It was the highlight of our trip. The Sidelingers are great hosts and truly made us feel at home. We loved our sun-drenched room with huge windows looking through the trees out into the bay. The lodge is very family friendly.... more

I'll start with the beds. After spending 9 nights on miserable beds at 3 different locations in Alaska, I thought I'd died and went to Heaven when I fell into the Sidelingers Bed. Wonderfull! The food, the adventures, and the vibes you recieve from Kevin and Lucinda, Bowman and Jessie made my son, Fred, and I feel right at home.... more

Alaska's Ridgewood Wilderness Lodge is a beautiful log home on the top of a hill overlooking Halibut Cove. The Lodge provides awesome activities everyday. During my stay we took incredible hikes with awesome views of mountains and glaciers. The food was always fresh and absolutely delicious. I had a great time and suggest the lodge to other adventurists. more

Spent 3 days at lodge and enjoyed the amenities. Very comfortable accomodations with views from all sides of building. Walk around deck. Family owned and casual atmosphere. They are dog friendly as long as your dog is well behaved. A lot of good hiking or walking around. The meals are first class, fresh and healthy. If you like music, be... more

Like others have mentioned, staying at the Ridgewood with the Sidelingers is like visiting long lost family! There is so much to do in Halibut Cove (kayaking, salmon/halibut fishing, boating trips, hiking, and relaxing of course), and the Sidelingers are perfect hosts. They provide plenty of advice and recommendations for your stay, and they guide all of your trips, which... more
