Reasonably priced and great location. Right by the Aurora Bay and bus stop, so easy to get around. We liked it better than another hotel nearby downtown when we stayed at Juneau. Staff was very helpful and guide us to hiking course to us told us good place to go nearby the hotel. Its nearby best hiking course (Perseverance Trail).... more

I had eaten at the restaurant in the past. Its a decent restaurant with a beautiful view. I booked a room for my trip and ended up canceling it well in advance. A few months later, a cancelation fee for $140 showed up on my credit card. It took weeks of calling to even get a manager to speak to... more

This hotel seem not to care about their guests, at all! they care about the bar crowd more. bar drunks would always be loud by guest windows late into the night, 3-4 am. had to call front desk several times so i could sleep. on top of everything the second *thankfully the last* night there fire alarm went off and... more

We stayed for two nights while waiting to board a fishing cruise. The first room we got was filthy, screen pushed out of window and smelled like mold. This was on the second level which is street level. A/C doesn't work and we did not feel comfortable with an open window at street level. We got moved to the top... more

Our one-week stay at this hotel was a game show prize, booked through a travel agent supplied by the game show. Must admit that we got a bit concerned when we read a few negative comments about the hotel on some online hotel review sites; however, we were pleasantly surprised with the hotel. It has a new owner! Our room... more

The food was amazing! My friends and I had the best king crab legs ever! The view of the harbor and the mountain was amazing, tranquil. I highly recommend the restaurant. more

We booked a mountainside room (less noise), non-smoking (allergies). When we arrived the clerk remained seated. She was playing solitaire on the computer and ignored us at first. After carrying 4 bags up 2 flights of stairs (no elevator) we were given a room facing the bay instead of the mountain and the room wreaked of cig smoke. The door... more

Based upon the "Best food in Juneau" commentary I stayed at the Breakwater Inn. I agree with some of the comments concerning the food at the restaurant, but the motel itself was disappointing. My room was only made up half of the time and the room I had facing the harbor was the noisiest room I have ever experienced. The... more

Heading down the hallway from the registration desk I encountered an unpleasant stench. My stay deteriorated from there. The curtains were falling off the window, the carpet had not been vacuumed, an unidentified substance in a glass was left in the refrigerator, and the toilet had blatant evidence that it had not been sanitized. The Prospector is located nearby and... more

We have stayed at the Breakwater Inn on several occasions. Motel is well-located and rooms are nice. The restaurant (casual) is rated as the best food in Juneau. Try it once and you will be back for meal after meal. Best Halibut I have ever eaten was here, and prices are inexpensive. Enjoy! more
