Nice lodge located in a hill with a great view of the water. They have a funicular to go downtown or up to the hotel, if you do not have a car. Very easy to do. The town is very expensive, but Alaska is very expensive anyway. We stayed here 4 nights for business, my husband's company payed for the... more

Very nice lodge located up a tall hill with a great view of the water. To reach the lodge, you will need to take the funicular up to the hotel, if you do not have a car. Very easy to do. Room is expensive (about $200/night), but Alaska is very expensive anyway. We stayed here 2 nights in preparation for... more

The Cape Fox is a nice hotel with a beautiful lobby and entrance. The rooms are nothing special, but the view from our room was breathtaking. We overlooked the water and could hear and see the cruise ships coming in each morning. There was a pretty severe mix-up with our reservation, and a few other peoples, resulting gin one room... more

Our plane had mechanical problems so we were forced to spend the night in Ketchikan The airline put us up at the Cape Fox. Although I have been in Ketchikan a lot, I had never stayed there. What a nice surprise. The staff was lovely at welcoming us so late (almost midnight). The room was large, clean, and comfortable. The... more

The Lodge is at the top of the Cape Fox hill and can be reached by car, or funicular (think hillside elevator). The front desk is friendly and efficient. The lobby is soaring and impressive. The rooms are large and clean. The bathrooms are very big, especially by Alaska standards. Towels are the usual standards. The restaurant is the town's... more

We spent three nights at the Cape Fox Hotel. We were traveling independently (2 couples). We booked our rooms well in advance, and had rooms with nice views looking out over town and the water (the water view is obscured when there are cruise ships in port, but that's not the hotel's fault!). The rooms were spartan (you'd think a... more

We stayed at the Cape Fox for one night preceding a Cruise West Inside Passage cruise on the Spirit of Yorktown. The Lodge is attractive in a lovely setting on a hill above old Ketchikan. The rooms are spacious with good sized bathrooms. Everything was very clean. The restaurant was very good with excellent service. We had a beautiful view... more

We stayed at the Cape Fox for one night following an Inside Passage cruise. The Lodge is very attractive in a lovely setting on a hill above old Ketchikan. The rooms are spacious with good sized bathrooms. Everything was very clean. The restaurant was very good with excellent service. Those are the positives. The negatives include mattresses and pillows that... more

The Good: Had a two-day stay just a few days ago. First of all, the restaurant is great. We had our best Kethikan meals in the Cape Fox restaurant. The Less-Than-Good: Espresso shop opens too late. Hey, this is summer in Alaska and people are up and ready to go early! Biggest problem was that front desk had poor knowledge... more

Our room had a lovely view of Ketchikan Creek with the town and Tongass Narrows in the distance. As the salmon began to congregate in the creek below, the eagles would perch on trees right outside our window! The location was perfect, with a tram that carried guests to the tourist streets below. Breakfast in the restaurant was pricey but... more
