The Seldovia Harbor Inn was by far the best place that we stayed while traveling through Alaska.

This small inn is located in the downtown of Seldovia - a small fishing village of about 300 people which you can only reach via plane or boat. We flew in, and it was amazing from the time we took off for Seldovia. Someone from the Inn met us at the small Seldovia air field and took us and our bags including groceries back to the inn. The owners were so nice, and the inn itself is beautiful. If you truly just want to relax and explore "not as touristy" Alaska, this is the place to go. Both locals and travelers love it here. Our room faced the harbor/ocean, huge balcony porch with a grill - what a beautiful view (see pictures below). There was 1 large bedroom and the living room had a futon couch that we used also. The bathroom was seperate from the master bedroom, which was nice, and there was a great kitchen with fridge and all the cooking essentials we needed... more
