When we booked this motorlodge about three months in advance I was a bit annoyed that they expected full payment of room up front. However on arrival we stayed in their studio room which was modern, clean and comfortable. The service was helpful and friendly and we would definetly stay here again. more

Stayed here Jan 2007. Really enjoyed it. Spent 2 nights here in the Hobbit Motel, it was very nice & comfortable. We stayed in a 2 bedroom, completed with round windows & hessian curtains. The kids loved it , the bunk beds - (separate room mum & dad loved that). Kids also loved the animals, the plane & the boat.... more

We stayed at the Hobbit Motor lodge in May. The apartment we stayed in was very spacious and roomy and had a beautiful view of the mountain. It also had a great spa in the bathroom. It was in a convenient location with easy access to the great eating plces nearby. Having plenty of onsite parking was a bonus. more

Hey, we stayed here last year and they couldn't have been more accomodating. There was a group of 14 of us and we ate there every night. They spoilt us. Rooms fine and management helpfull. I'd recommend. more

The Hobbit was a nice find. We arrived in Ohakune without a place to stay. We looked for signs for "Internet" on hotel signs and found the Hobbit first. The grounds and buildings looked well kept so we stopped in. The price was right and room options perfect. The wireless internet worked great. I talked with the owners a while... more
