Room OK, but had been sold to us as "recently refurbished". It was hard to see which elements had actually been refurbished. Within walking distance of the centre of Timaru, which is pleasant enough, but not really a tourist resort. more

I stayed here for one night in March 2008. Although this is only a cheap motel, rather than a luxury hotel, it was by far and away the most comfortable, well-equipped motel I stayed in while travelling around New Zealand. Although Timaru is not a tourist destination if you are looking for a motel in that area Aspen on King is excellent. Large units, well equipped, friendly staff. Hotel restaurant was good - this was just as well as we did not spot any others in the vicinity more

Stayed only one night at the Motel but it is a newish place. Great accommodation, Separate Queen size bedroom, bathroom with shower and large Jacuzzi. Also it has a modern kitchen in the lounge area, all though we used the restaurant, which had good food at reasonable rates! Good value! more
