July, 2008 We stayed at the Chinook Wind Cabins for the "Moose Dropping Festival" and enjoyed the clean cabin and comfortable beds. We stayed in the 'Denali' cabin for two nights during a whirlwind trip to Alaska. The cabin itself was very large and had a nice kitchen/living room area. We loved our visit to Talkeetna. We had the wonderful experience of being able to view THE mountain (as well as Mt. Foraker and Mt. Hunter) on several occasions, with clear blue-sky days and also cloudless evenings. The advertising claims that these cabins are the cleanest around--and I can believe it. They were spotless!! And no bugs! These are large, beautiful cabins with good beds and all the kitchen equipment you need to prepare and consume meals. Muffins/doughnuts and juice are offered for free. The cabin area is one block from the main street of town. Quiet.... more
The cabin we rented for 2 nights, the Brooks Range, was equipped with everything you need for a comfortable stay, i.e. full sized coffee-maker, ceramic mugs, microwave, etc. The location is tops if you're interested in parking the car and walking to everything like town, the river, and the airfield. Jane and her husband were wonderful hosts. We recommend fully! more
