I won't go over the same information already supplied - i.e. large clean rooms, excellent hotel grounds, fantastic snorkeling etc. The hotel itself is lovely, my main critism is the poor quality of the food on offer - having stayed A/I in the Carribean a couple times we have been spoilt with excellent cuisine including fresh fish (even lobster) and... more

On arrival in Marsa Alam airport we were directed into queues according to tour operator and hotel in order for the tour reps to stick a visa stamp in passports. However, being frequent visitors to Egypt we just went to the small bank window and purchased ours for $15 each. On the transfer coach the tour reps handed out registration... more

I am writing this review as I am sick of reading bad reviews for places. This hotel is excellent..if you're looking for booze and English food then go to Lanzarote but if you're looking for a relaxing trip with beautiful grounds, a beach on your doorstep and one of the best All inclusives I have had then this is the... more

What a fantastic holiday and hotel! We have never been to Egypt before and were a little apprehensive, especially as Marsa Alam is such a new and developing area. But, there is nothing to worry about with this hotel. Ideally, it is only down the road from the airport, but you will have no trouble with aircraft noise. There is... more

First things first - Visa: Just in case you were wondering and have previously visited Sharm, Taba et all, a Visa is not optional here because you are not in the Sinai. You will receive documents to complete on the flight. Once you enter the airport, there are 3 or 4 pedestals on the right hand side - this is... more

We returned yesterday from the Lamaya having been there for 2 weeks. We are four adults travelling together and none of us had been to Egypt before so were a bit apprehensive!! On arrival, the hotel was great, welcoming drinks and very easy to check in. Rooms were very large- ours had 2 bedrooms, one with 2 singles and a... more

A weeks break just before Christmas. Rooms were big and were lucky enough to be located away from the main part of the hotel and therefore it was quiet. If you want to lay on a sunbed for your entire holiday then this is the place for you, all inclusive, friendly staff (if you can catch their attention to service... more

The food was very bland and hardly any choice. Only decent meal was Breakfast - at least the 'Chef' could not spoil Toast ( you do it yourself ). more

The hotel is one of four around a small bay in the south of Red Sea, 70 km North of Marsa Alam town. The main purpose of visiting such a resort is to snorkel or dive. The Iberotel Lamaya has its own pier that allows you to bypass the very shallow, unnegotiable coral and to descend directly into the main... more
