Musty, dusty site, flat ceiling inside completely spoiling teepee affect. Three elderly ladies, experienced travellers, decided not to stay although booked in. motel closed until 4oclock so our decision not to stay was delayed by non access. Situated in what is probaly the most boring town in the whole of arizona. What a disappointment. Reception was cool and our decisionj not... more

While this motel is not the newest or most up to date, it is one of the most fun/novel places I have stayed. We were given the wigwam next to where "Mater" is parked. The kids were shocked but delighted when we pulled in and said this is where we were staying. The rooms were clean and didn't have any... more

There are many reasons to visit the Wigwam Motel in Holbrook. One are the old cars parked alongside most of the tee-pee shaped hotels, Studebakers and even a 60's VW. There is a wonderful museum in the lobby that has information about the motel, route 66 and petrified forests (among other things) and it's free to go through. The lobby... more

One of the best parts of my 5,000-mile road trip! I was lucky to get a wigwam without reservations, although I did stay on a Monday night. The Wigwam Motel was everything I expected and more, and I can't wait to stay there again. Joe & Aggie's restaurant, about a half a mile down the street, has amazing authentic Mexican... more

If you are looking for a place with kitsch and charm and reminders of a by-gone era, this is the place to be. When planning a last minute getaway to see the Petrified Forest, we decided to try the Wigwam Motel. We'd heard about it, read about it and decided to see for ourselves what this place was all about.... more

An incredible Route 66 experience. The Wigwam exceeded our expectations. The staff was helpful and friendly and our wigwam/teepee was excellent. Very, very clean and quaint. You can't help but smile while you're here. Lots of great old cars parked throughout the lot, including the Studebaker out front. It brought back alot of memories of my great grandfather's dealership in... more

what a stay!! a hidden gem, so glad we took the effort to arrange this ourselves rather than using the hotel our travel agent would arrange for us as part of an independant route 66 tour , it's like staying in your Disney house, we felt like kids again, it was the highlight of our tour, check in was easy... more

No, it's not fancy but it is very kitschy. Rooms are small and simply decorated. Surrounding area has lost much of the historic Rt. 66 charm. But where else can you sleep in such a unique setting for a mere $52. The sole remaining old style restaurant down the street was recommended by the hotel owner, and turned out to... more

I am so glad we stayed at the Wigwam Motel. What a nostalgic experience that we had. The motel is very well cared for and quite clean. Certainly one of the best on Route 66; this is for people who want to go back in time and think about simpler days when roadtrips were the norm for travelers. There are... more

Stayed for 2 nights before & after visit to the Petrified Forest. Glad we had this unusual experience. The room was rustic, but clean and comfortable. With the air conditioner on, I never heard the trains go by. The Safeway across the street is convenient for lunch items (the deli makes panninis & hot sandwiches). Although there are signs for... more
