My wife and I had a truly memorable stay here for three nights in one of the 5* new lodges. The Lodges are very large tents, the description "tent" does not do really describe the accomodation! they are very large rooms with double showers, huge beds, plunge pools overlooking the reserve with decking to relax on. The staff are extremely... more

Like others our stay was great......for many reasons. We stayed 3 nights (so had theextra visits to Addo and Born Free). From the welcome with cooling/hot towels, the cooling sundowners (or hot water bottles on the game drive) depending on the weather, the attention to detail and service was constant (and they washed the car !) We too had Eban... more

In spite of cold weather and rain, our stay was fantastic! The facilities are wonderful and the staff is awesome. The service was attentive, responsive and thoughtful to detail. Eban was our game driver, and he was knowledgeable, personable and dedicated to making sure we had a memorable experience -- which we definitely did. The chef is beyond outstanding; she... more

We spent 3 nights at the Safari Lodge and we had an amzing time. The highlight of the stay was definitely the game drives with the excellent ranger Mnonni. He was very knowledgable, polite, charming but most importantly a lot of fun. We were lucky enough to have two game drives for just the two of us which were undoubtedly... more

Luxurious accommodation with wonderful bath and outside shower. Each hut is really well equipped and has its own private plunge pool and patio where you can watch the animals, using the binoculars and identification guides provided. The food was fantastic and the lodge has every comfort you can imagine. The staff were really friendly and helpful. The safari drives with... more

We are just back from a fabulous 2 day safari in Amakhala Game Reserve, staying in the Safari Lodge - one of the many accommodations available at Amakhala. We arrived a few hours early before check in and we were greeted with a glass of champagne and were kindly allowed to check in early and given breakfast. The service is... more

Not having been on safari before I didnt know what to expect, but I was not disapointed. From arrival where they whisk your luggage away and you are offered a drink in the cool seating area overlooking the water hole. There are only 10 lodges in all and each one is set in its own little plot with outside shower,... more

The Amakhala Safari Lodge is one of the establishments available for guests visiting the Amakhala Game Reserve. The lodging establishments are independent, and the game reserve as such is shared between the lodges. I don't have much else than positive things to say about the Amakhala Safari Lodge. The lodges are huge, with own backyard terrace with a small pool,... more

What can we say? From start to finish our experience of the Safari Lodge was outstanding. We spent 4 days there during which time we got married. From the start of wedding planning 6 months ago until the actual day Justine (the owner) and Elitze (the manager) were just fantastic. Nothing was too much trouble. All the staff are just... more
