Five minutes from the Airport, this hotel is ideal for an overnight stop or two at the most. It has a good restaurant - Ginger. Directly overlooking the Indian Ocean on Summerstrand, there is a lot to do here for families particularly. The hotel is next door to the Casino. The Hotel arranged a City tour given by a local... more

We stayed one night enroute to a safari. It was very noisy. Sufficed for a night, but wouldn't want much more. more

The beach Hotel was a little disappointing after the lovely B&B's we had stayed in along the Garden Route. We only stayed 1 night after doing the Garden route and was returning to the uk via port Elizabeth Airport. It was a good hotel for an overnight stay being located not far from the Airport. The rooms were average but... more

We didnt know what to expect from this hotel, but I have to say we were pleasantly surprised. It was quite nice. We stayed here for one night at the end of our honeymoon. We had just booked a standard room with B&B, and thats what we were expecting but when shown to our room we got a lovely surprise.... more

We don’t think our comments may be representative as we were given a large suite facing the waterfront. We stayed just for one night and checked-in in the early afternoon and left early in the morning. The location is great. The hotel gave the impression of a relaxed colonial style. We enjoyed the stay and would definitely like to come... more

stayed here for 2 nights before going on to safari. found the room a decent size, clean and had everything you require in a 4 star hotel. it is right next door to the boardwalk where there are loads of restaurants and a casino. the hotel has a restaurant called gingers which serves some really good food and wine. the... more

Stayed one night on our way to Kariega game reserve. It is well located and just 8km from the airport but definately not a place I would spend any longer than a one night stopover. It reminded me of an american style motel. our room was off an open courtyard and the carpet surrounding the courtyard looked stained and old.... more

As such, would not recommend Port Elizabeth for more than a few nights. Reserve more time time at one of the excellent game reserves nearby, instead, and also spend more than just one or two nights along the Garden Route between Cape Town and P.E. Hotel as such was just about OK, although the people working there were always friendly... more

Stayed for one night of our Honeymoon in the Beach hotel before we went onto the Kariega Game Reserve. The hotel itself was ok but only as a stopover option. We had stayed in such fantastic hotels along that way that this hotel was then a let down. Room was ok but would definately not recommend it to anyone. Would... more
