My mom and I stayed at Fly Inn Lodge for one night, but we wished we could have stayed longer. The facility seems brand new...it's quite impressive actually. Our room had satellite TV, really nice beds and linens, and a wonderful ambiance. Fast internet access is available for use and that was really convenient.
Joburg has a bad reputation for crime and it can be an intimidating place to stay, but Fly Inn makes you feel really safe. It's purposefully designed from the outside to look as inconspicuous as possible, so locals don't know that a bunch of rich tourists are staying there. Gates and wired fences make you feel secure at night as well.
The staff is really nice and I felt welcomed right away. Making the reservation was easy too and the owner was super flexible and on top of things. I had a nightmare of a time trying to get to Joburg and an even harder time getting past immigration for stupid reasons, and Fly Inn was really understanding when I had to cancel one night... more
