A shortage of rooms in Johannesburg left this as the only sub R1,500 Rand option available. The location is fairly good, but aside from the excellent French restaurant on the premises (which is not owned by the hotel), you will have to drive to shop and eat as it is not safe to walk to Sandton from here, particularly after dark.
The rooms have been given the Holiday Inn makeover, but look like old rooms that have been refurbished. The front desk service was so staggerinngly inefficient that it was almost amusing and my 15 minute check in was followed by another guest wandering into my room during the course of the evening having been given the same room as me!
Breakfast was dreadful and most of the tables had been half cleared, but no replacement cutlery or napkins had been provided. I had to help myself to bits and pieces from other half set tables!
To be fair, the hotel didn't charge me for the room, but I won't be back as it is overpriced and badly run.
