Blue Marlin is now over 55 years old and has managed to retain the air of friendliness and high quality of true service that is no longer present in many hotels. The accommodation is perfectly adequate albeit basic. This is well reflected in the prices charged. I fully recommend the bed, breakfast and evening meal package. Food appeared to be home made with freshly baked ( yes, not bought in and cooked) cakes, bread and buns each morning. The average cost of a very good bottle of South African wine with dinner was around £6, a small mark up on supermarket prices.
The hotel caters well for families with young children and a superb sand and grass beach is just a few yards away with swimming pools and many other facilities. A Life Guard Club overlooks the beach and guards are on watch all day.
We played the Scottburgh, Umkomaas, Umdoni and Selborne golf courses. All at reasonable rates and with transport provided by the hotel at a small cost. Richard at the Blue Marlin...
