The resort is meant to be 4-star but we think more of a standard 3-star, nothing 4-star about the accommodation, food or service. Fantastic destination if you have pre-teen children, the very friendly staff will keep them busy all day long, from baking to egg and spoon races. The facilities are brilliant from mountain bikes and horse riding to a kids only room decked out with sony play stations. Plus you can still do all the traditional drakensburg stuff like beautiful walks ect. more

Getting to Alpine Heath is kind of crazy. Big note: Watch out for potholes. Some of the most scenic views I've ever seen were on the way though. I have just returned from a (long) weekend spent with my family (hubby, teenager son, aged parents) at this resort. What a gorgeous setting! And the chalets are simply charming!
