After a lot of searching and reading I finally picked Elepahnt Plains for our Honeymoon get away. Not having been to the Kruger before or to any luxury lodges before we did not know what to expect. Boy were we in for a treat. Elephant Plains is easy to get to (just whatch out for the speed cops through the... more

My husband and I visited Elephant Plains in late November for our first safari. It was really one of the coolest experiences we've ever had and in big part it was because of Elephant Plains. We flew into Hoedspruit and they arranged a ground transfer for us which was about 1.5 hrs. When we got there to check in, several... more

Loved everything about the lodge, the rondavel (number 5 -- the best position rondavel for looking over the plain at the elephants and wildlife that came to the water hole), the service, the drives, the food, the infinity pool. Everything was perfect and made more perfect at the affordable price. more

I don't think I can say it any better than any of the other reviews but I'll certainly add my 2 cents. We arrived in the late afternoon to be warmly welcomed by a very professional and friendly staff. We stayed in the Rhino room, which was huge and comfortable and spotless. We were just in time for an evening... more

The Animals - as the most important factor in any game experience it's important to get this right, and boy does Elephant Sands do that. This was our third game lodge visited in South Africa. Without any shadow of a doubt, the game viewing blew everywhere else out of the water. And if you want to see leopards, Sabi Sands... more

ABSOLUTELY LOVED ELLIE PLAINS……… On this website there are two locations for Elephant Plains, i.e. Kruger Park and Nelspruit - so be sure to check both sets of reviews because its all for the same place. Sabi Sands is my favourite reserve - and having previously been fortunate enough to experience some of the very luxurious and expensive camps in... more

We were very impressed with pretty much everything at Elephant Plains. Our tracker and guide were both amazing, finding us leopards day after day. We were worried about seeing the big five but saw lions, cape buffalo and an elephant near the end of our 5 day stay. The food was excellent and the cooks were very social and interested... more

This lodge is truly amazing. A very nice welcome and check in, the bungalows are like staying in a 5-star hotel, only private. Safe security electric fence around entire compound to keep you safe. Two beautiful pools, spa with all kinds of treatments and massages, and a TV/game room for relaxing between game drives. Both pools face the watering hole... more

Stayed for 2 nights at the Elephant Plains whilst on safari and really enjoyed it. The accommodation was luxurious, king size bed, large balcony and sitting area, well equipped bathroom with 2 showers (one was outdoors) and a freestanding bath tub looking out onto the watering hole. The food was okay, staff were friendly and hotel had plenty of amenities... more
