We had a great 3 days- and Michel organised birding trips, cultural outings and a lake "sundowner cruise". The rondavel was lovely- spotlessly clean and with the deepest bath ever! But the best of all was the superb meals in the evenings- everyhing was cooked to order, fresh and beutifully presented. Wonderful stay and I would definitely go back. more

Shiluvari was our first stop and was the perfect place to recuperate from an 11 hour flight and 4 hours drive! The room was a typical rondavel style, furnished simply and using all local crafts. Stayed at this lodge recently and loved the understated sophistication and impeccable service. The tranquility is amazing and the environment feels very safe. The food was good home cooking, but deliciously so. Okay, so this is not your average 5 star Lodge in South Africa.....forget landscaped gardens and white gloves, instead be prepared for one of the most authentic places we stayed at.
