We are just back after staying 2 weeks in this hotel. We found the staff very good and helpfull. The room was fine good comfy bed and cleaned every day but could have done with a fridge in it. We had a few dinners and the food was great and value for money. Sometimes we bought food from the local... more

We stayed 9 nights B&B in a 'pool view' room, which was spacious, with a kitchen area and lounge area (not sure all rooms are the same). I would not bother to pay extra for a 'sea view' as most of the view is blocked by new appartments, although you can still see a partial view from the pool and... more

This was my second stay at the President and couldn't wait to come back. The location is great, the service is wonderful and the room comfortable and cleaned to the highest standards. I am not understanding the negative reviews from here. We stayed for a week and met some lovely people, most of whom were repeat guest. The pool area... more

After reading some of your reviews I wondered if we'd tipped up at the wrong place! What a lovely hotel! We didn't want to stay in the hear of the Waterfront - you wouldn't be able to relax in a noise-free environment. Bantry Bay and the President were great. Astounding views of the rough seas (it is WINTER everyone who... more

Stayed 3 nights. Room was OK but the police were being called nearly every day because of the thefts taking place (staff members suspected). The hotel is a long long way out of Capetown. It was a good 20 min taxi ride to The Waterfront. Noisy at night with people in the pool around 10pm (it was freezing cold and... more

I have been to Cape Town many times and stayed at the expensive Bay Hotel and Cape Grace, etc. I found the President hotel to be about as nice and much better service and a third of the price. If you want luxury and don't want to spend $500 + a night this is a great hotel. I found it... more

We arrived at 2.30 on Friday afternoon and our room was not yet ready!!! If we had to check out that time they would be banging on our door!!! I dont know why its a four star hotel. At 5 in the afternoon we gave them food which we requested be warmed up and brought to our room at 7... more

The fact is, that unless you pay the SA preferential rate of about 100 Euros per room a night BB, you'd be better off staying in a tent. If you have a sea-view room or jnr suite with kitchinette, your stay might be more pleasant, but you'd stll have to contend with an awful bathroom [sub motel standard] and cheap... more
