We recently went to South Africa on vacation and wanted to stay five days in Cape Town. Friends suggested we avoid the city center because of safety issues. We decided to stay at the Victoria & Alfred at the waterfront. It could not have been a better choice. The rooms (except for the loft rooms) were large and comfortable. We... more

Our family had a fantastic trip to Cape Town while staying at the V&A Hotel. The location of the Hotel is fantastic right in the middle of the waterfront. A little bit touristy, but very fun with access to lots of activities for little ones. Within easy walking distance of the Aquarium, Scratch Patch and harbor cruises. We has a... more

We arrived at the V&A hotel on a sunny afternoon in August after a long flight. I had been a bit hesitant about staying in this area as previous reviews had cited it as overly touristy. But my fears were put to rest as soon as we arrived. Yes, it is touristy. But when you're a tourist after all, that's... more

This is a lovely hotel in the perfect location in Capetown. Food was good, breakfast sometimes a hit or a miss, service was sometimes slow at breakfast, but overall good. Room had a perfect view of Table Mountain and very spacious. Close to shops and loads of very good restaurants and lots of outdoor entertainment. Would definitely go back! more

This is a nice hotel in a nice spot but it is poorly run and is definately not worth the money. The decor is modern and the rooms are large but my room was dirty, long dark hair on the bathroom, toilet and room floor (I have shorty blonde hair) A finger nail on the desk, mould in the shower,... more

We spent three nights at the Victoria & Alfred Hotel during our three week safari to Southern Africa. We were very pleased with the quality of the rooms and the service at this hotel. We had booked two interconnecting rooms for our family of four, with two teenagers, and this worked out well for us. The rooms are well appointed... more

The pupose of this visit was to support the recent British & Lions rugby tour, so the advance booking arrangements were handled through the specialist tour organisiers. That said, on arrival, our group (of 45) was made very welcome with complimentary drinks on the terrace overlooking the working inner-harbour - with its fur seals - and as a backdrop, Table... more

My husband and I traveled to Africa with our two teenaged daughters, so we requested rooms next to one another when making the reservation. Upon arrival in Capetown, my husband verified that the rooms were next to one another and not near an elevator. The reception agent assured him that was the case. We were taken to our rooms only... more

Had stayed at this hotel a few times, some years earlier. Outstanding destination, for starters - Cape Town is definitely a magical city for a visitor (though, like many other magical cities, I'm sure it has its issues if you live there). We usually request airport pick-up from the hotel, which in our experience was always reliable - the driver... more
