Am finally finding a few minutes to enter my review of this excellent hotel. My partner and I stayed at Liberty Lodge from November 16th to 21st. We absolutely LOVED it there. We stayed in for 5 nights in the RHODES room and then our final night in the MADIBA room. The former was huge and had a wonderful view... more

Quiet elegance within a true classic period house. Beautiful and tasteful furnishings. Feels as though great attention has been paid to every detail. Room was spacious with a huge shared balcony--Table Mtn clearly seen. Cute neighborhood which felt local not touristy. Lots of adorable restaurants within blocks. Close enough to just about everything one wants to do in Cape Town.... more

I stayed at Liberty Lodge for almost a week in October. Ruth was a great hostess and the staff were very efficient as well. The lodge is clean, tastefully decorated, centrally located. We stayed at the Rhodes room which was huge and had an amazing view of Table Mountain. Breakfast is awesome. more

The location of Liberty Lodge is stunning. To awake each morning from our beautiful room, to the delights of Table Mountain,( would it be wearing the table cloth or would we be able to view the top)! would take some beating. Then to smell the delights of breakfast arising from the floor below always enticed us to jump out of... more

Liberty Lodge is everything you want from a guest house. My room (Tolkien) backed onto a beautiful small courtyard mostly for my private use. Everything was immaculate and the breakfast was delicious. The room itself had everything I needed and probably more. I felt very safe walking in the area and it is very convenient for shopping, eating and the... more

We had fantastic stay at the Liberty Lodge. The best part of our stay was the excellent service from the owner (Ruth) and her staff (especially Lisa). Ruth was at breakfast everyday and was always on hand to help with planning routes, suggestions on places to visit, and checking to see if the Robben Island ferry was running. She also... more

My husband and I spent a total of five nights at Liberty Lodge, and highly recommend it to anyone staying in Cape Town. There are only five guest rooms--we had Ghandi room, which opens out onto the balcony, and was very lovely. The guest rooms are each unique, all decorated in a modern African style, very cool, and relaxing. Each... more

Liberty Lodge Guesthouse is one of the treasures of Cape Town – a very special place. Ruth is a diamond and a first class host. Her passion and energy for this breath taking city are epic and infectious. She shares her knowledge and insight with a light touch which feels personal and bespoke. The LL experience is evidently designed to... more

Based upon internet reviews and Trip Advisor comments, I booked this well-reviewed B&B three hours before boarding SAA in Washington DC for the 24 hrs journey (door to door) to Liberty Lodge. It was my first time to visit CT, so I really needed a comfortable, warm, trusting bed and breakfast run by someone who would be-friend me and give... more

Liberty Lodge was a hidden gem in a charming neighborhood. The rooms were comfortable and South Africn chic. Ruth, the proprieter, was incredible helpful and energetic despite having just returned from her own holiday. The staff was extremely efficient and accommodating. It was well located within walking distance of shops and great restaurants. more
