We had decided to stay in the centre of town in Capetown and not out at the Marina. The location of the hotel was really good, it was only a few minutes walk to the castle and to the other downtown attractions. The staff at the hotel were very helpful and made our stay very pleasant. The highlight of our... more

Not the best visit unfortunately; things got off to a bad start with an officious door man being unhelpful, and got quickly worse when we saw our room. The room was pretty shabby and in need of a lot of TLC. There was no air-con or fridge and it was generally quite miserable. There was night-filming going on in the... more

I loved my stay here and I found it on the internet a few days before I left. the food was great. I had laundry done perfectly and quickly and so afforbably. the room was super clean. The staff was nice but not overly nice. It looks kind of funky-rustic-boutique in the rooms and modern. Only down side was the... more

We stayed here to be in the centre of cape town, this was good to do the lonely planet walk, at of the end of which is a wine bar, all in walking distance of this hotel. what i didn't like was not having air con this meant poor sleep in sweaty conditions. By the way, the room we had,... more

The location was great. The hotel is less than 5km from all tourist destinations. The rooms are nice and clean. We had booked a stay there for 10 days. After a late dinner my girlfriend and I headed back to the hotel. It was about 11:30pm. We where attacked by our cab driver (who was a white male), as we... more

Stayed here on our last night in South Africa. It isn't the Ritz but for the money, the rooms are good, the service great and it has a jacuzzi on the roof where you can watch the Table Mountain cable car. If you want a good inexpensive hotel in Cape Town, this will certainly do. more

I booked the Cape Diamond hotel only a day before I was arriving in Cape Town. I paid about 600 rand for a single room (double bed). I was suprised how nice the room was. While it wasn't huge I certainly wasn't cramped and it was nice & clean. While it would have been nice to have a view (i... more

I had an awesome time. The location was best of all. Even though Cape Town is hardly big enough to qualify having a "downtown" - this is probably it. The Parade is just the other side of the hotel and Greenmarket Square is about 5 minutes walk away. It made it easy to mingle with and observe the locals. I... more

I stayed this hotel during my trip to South Africa. Over all, I enjoyed my stay. Every hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. My room was quite spacious and well decorated for the price. Unfortunately, the bathroom was not cleaned properly and I needed to request to clean it. I asked to change my room and the room they... more

Stayed at the Cape Diamond for three nights in May 2007 on the 7th floor. Overall a solid three star hotel in the middle of Cape Town. Close to street shops, markets, train, restaurants, and pharmacies. Location: Location is central to get around the city; however it is not adjacent to any of the major tourist areas so you must... more
