Protea Fire & Ice is definately the best and friendliest Hotel I have ever stayed at. From the Security Guy to General Manager everyone has a smile on their face and they are very attentive to your every need. Its from home to home. I recommend this friendly, comfortable hotel to anybody no matter your age. Mrs C.D Stein more

I just came back from Capetown 3 days ago and am so enthused with this hotel that i just had to add a review. I stayed at the hotel for 8 days. The price is really good - supposedly this is a 3 star hotel- but it didnt feel like that at all. It is super clean, the bed is... more

I spent 1 night at the Protea Hotel Fire & Ice and it was great - one of the most creative hotels that I've stayed in. As I arrived, I was met by a friendly gentlemen waiting at the door to take my bags into the hotel, while I was filling out the form for check-in, we were offered drinks.... more

Myself and wife are just back after 5 great nights in Cape Town. After reading the great reviews on this hotel on Trip Advisor we thought we would give it a go. On arrival there appeared quite a lot of noisy construction work going on accross the street due to expansion of the hotel. We were not unduley concerned, but... more

This is a fun hotel, a short walk from Long St in central Cape Town. I was extremely impressed with the front desk staff - they were all young, positive and all really tried to help and be as friendly as possible. The dark hallways won't be to everyone's taste with extreme, garish colours. The rooms weren't huge, but were... more

I stayed here to two nights on a business trip. The hotel is comfortable, the food good, but it has a certain style. There are three themes lifts (I personally liked the shark cage), there is a climbing wall, and all the TVs in the bar are were showing extreme sports. The room had modern décor and the shower a... more

One of the most strangely decorated hotels I have ever stayed at. It was definitely a bit of a shock on arrival at midnight after a long flight from the UK. However everything works well and its fun discovering all the new quirks. The smoking, or as they call it coughing, room is hilarious. The best thing about the hotel... more

We stayed in this fabulous hotel for 2 nights in June 2007 and couldn't fault it. The attention to detail was excellent with touches like a glass of fruit juice as you check in, and a pin-code safe in the bedroom. The room was amazing with a really comfortable king-size bed and a view of Table Mountain that was difficult... more

What a pleasant experience! We stayed at this hotel (now the Protea Fire & Ice) for 4 nights leading up to Christmas. It was at the tail end of our South African holiday and needed something comfortable and well-suited for our needs. This place met them. Number 1, the service was impecible! I'm a stickler for hotel service. Having spent... more
