I made a multiple booking for two nights as we had a wedding at Buitenverwachting. The hotel decor is very different and we liked it. In particular the suite for my daughter and her groom. Service was unobtrusive but attentive. We only eat at the bistro area (breakfast and lunch) and I can recommend both the food and the service.... More

We arrived at the hotel by car on a busy Sunday afternoon, to a full car park, complicated as the majority of parking places were marked as reserved for the adjoining offices. Deciding this would not apply on a Sunday, we took a gap. We were shown to our room which was beautifully furnished but complicated.  We decided to make... More

This review is for the rose bar. Great comfy sofas under giant oak trees with a view across the garden to the hotel swimming pool. We love to come here for an early evening drink and settle down to ctach the last of the sunshine with a nice bottle of chilled rose wine. The rose bar serves nice little appetisers... More

Alphen is an old institution in Cape Town in a lovely location but over the years it went in to decline. Now refurbished the Hotel and the Le Belle restaurant have good reports, so I thought I should try their main restaurant the 5 Rooms. This is the first time I have ever given anywhere an accolade for being the... More

We had a wonderful stay at the Alphen Hotel in Constantia, Cape Town. The hotel has been heavily invested in since we stayed there 2years ago and it seems to only have benefited from it. New facilities and services have been added without the loss of its heritage and character. Hidden away in the green suburb that is Constantia the... More

We really enjoyed the venue. We had looked at various placed and were unwilling to spend good money on poor accommodation. The hotel accommodated us at a great price. All the amenities were great. Bar, pool, rooms and both restaurants. Unfortunately the spa was not ready during our stay. We stayed in room 8 and it was luxury. We looked... More

We read about the Alphen hotel just after we arrived back home last year. It was high on our list of places to visit this year and we were not disappointed, on the contrary. Note: This is a review of the hotel's Rose Bar only - I have not stayed at the hotel itself. Location is great and the garden setting is serene and relaxing.
