Amazed on arrival to be introduced to bell-hop, receptionist, restaurant/bar manager, and spa manager! Were then showjn to our suite -the Oystercatcher! We were worried, prior to our 3 days at LPL, having read the various reviews, that the accommodation would be sub standard. IT WAS NOT. We voiced the concern to the general manager and it would seem that they are well aware of past problems but these are now in the past and certainly our stay was excellent. We were booked into Lake Pleasant Living as part of a fly-drive tour of South Africa. It was sold to us as 5 star luxury accommodation, but the reality was far from the expectation. In a beautiful setting overlooking an amazing lake, Lake Pleasant I'm afraid, is looking a little tired..... This hotel was reccomended by Siyabona Travel. Nice setting on a picturesque lake approxamatly 3 miles from Knysna. Very large, comfortable rooms. Ours had a balcony overlooking the lake.
