Like most of the hotels on the Riviera tour it is about 1km out of town along a busy main road so walking is not recommended. The town is lovely with plenty of shops and restaurants. Taxis are cheap and plentiful, so eating in town is easily available, if required. This is a lovely hotel with great rooms, food and... more

My husband, daughter and I stayed in Knynsa Hollow for two nights on our three week holiday of South Africa. We stayed in its sister hotel Hippo Hollow at Hazvyview and I have to stay they are both stunning hotels. Whilst Hippo is typical wild africa, Knysna Hollow was very old colonial. Stunning Lodges, faboulus pools, gardens lovey, breakfast area... more

The Knysna Hollow hotel is part of an hotel chain which we used 3 times during our package tour of South Africa with Riviera Travel. The hotels were classed as 3 star, which the other 2 were, but this one was certainly a cut above the other for the hotel buildings, food and service. The rooms are individual white bungalows... more

we spent a glorious 8 days in Knysna, golfing and sightseeing. The Knysna Hollow is about 1km. from the town centre on the road from George. Situated in lovely gardens with a nice pool and guines fowl and wild birds roaming. The restaurant is excellent but sometimes too crowded if a coachload of visitors arrive! However there are lots of... more

Knysna Hollow was our first stop along the Garden Route and we were not disappointed. We were given a beautiful and spacious thatched cottage in well tended gardens with a glorious swimming pool only a few yards away. The first night we had dinner at the Hotel and the ambience was delightful. The food was well presented and very tasty.... more

We booked Knysna Hollow because it was the right price and location and suitable for our 1 1/2 year old. Knysna Hollow is much more beautiful than I expected and even more beautiful at night. The grounds are wonderful. We absolutely loved our dinner at the restaurant. We were a bit worried about the tour groups as all of the... more

This was a disappointing hotel. Our chalet room backed onto a road and the traffic started at 5 a.m. Gap under door of about an inch through which insects could come in and heat could escape had to block it every night with a towel. Curtains very thin so as soon as it became light it woke you. Very depressing... more

We spent 2 nights at the Knysna Hollow on a tour of the Garden Route. This is a very pretty hotel, with guests staying in thatched lodges around the gardens. We had 2 of the lodges and the aroma in each of them was quite pungent on entering. This is to do with the thatch (and not, as one other... more
