Room 214 Stayed here for one night only (thankfully) as part of a tour. This is an older type hotel, apparently named for Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother who stayed here once with our present Queen and Princess Margaret, I bet they didn't stay in Room 214. The public rooms had a certain old world charm. Room 214 was very... more

Sadly only stayed here one night as part of a coach tour of South Africa. Absolutely loved this hotel, it has an old world colonial charm. The room, although compact was decorated tastefully, as was the whole hotel. Breakfast was delicious, with a good choice (the smoked salmon and scrambled egg was my favourite). Staff were very friendly. Didn't eat... more

We spent two nights at the Queen's hotel and thoroughly enjoyed it. The hotel is conveniently located in the center of town, adjacent to the CP Nel Museum (which is worth visiting). The highlights of the hotel are its excellent meals. The breakfasts, which are served in the ground-level breakfast room featured custom-cooked eggs, and a good selection of other... more

We arrived at the Queens Hotel to be greated by the friendliest staff. The Reservations manager personally came out to introduce herself and the receptionist could wait to give us our arrival beverages. Just such a warm and friendly welcome. That's the start to a lovely stay and a good impression of what the rest of the staff and the... more

My husband and I stayed at the Queens Hotel for two nights in December 2007. The South African Tourism Board rates this as a four star hotel and although it was a high-quality place, it was not as nice as the other four star hotels we stayed in during our visit to the country. The air-conditioned room contained a queen... more

This was one of 5 hotels we stayed in on our South Africa trip and it was the one we liked and enjoyed least. The common areas of the hotel were spacious and well kept. The staff were very pleasant and the restaurant was very attractive with good food and service. The breakfast buffet was also more than adequate. The... more

The Queens Hotel is a lovely spot for a night in Oudtshoorn. Our room was small but nicely appointed and clean. Breakfast was fantastic. Dinner at The Colony (the hotel restaurant) was really a treat -- delicious and inexpensive. I love the ambiance and warmth there as well. more

This hotel is large and lovely. We were made to feel very welcome. Our bedroom was quite large and airy, beautifully decorated and stylish and we had a lovely large bathroom. The breakfast was excellent ;there is everything you are likely to need to set you up for the day. Evening meals are relatively casual served in the beautiful dining room and... more

This was the first hotel stop along our Garden Route tour. The service at this hotel was above average. The four course dinner was great! The Ostrich filet was perfectly done. I would stay here again. more
