I'm surprised to read of the bad experiences. We arrived and were greeted promptly, shown the secure parking area at the back of the property, and informed of the procedure for breakfast. 730am to 930am. We had an adorable room upstairs. Stellenbosch was our last stop on our holiday. We chose the Ryneveld Country Lodge because it billed itself as a gracious country guesthouse, registered national monument, late 1800's. pay no attention to the lovely images in this hotel's website. The rooms bore no resemblance to this, and depsite being described as "award winning" in every guidebook, the award turned out to have been won almost 20 years ago - and the place has gone down a lot since then.
