Holiday 8-22 Sept 2008. Booked a self catering apartment with good views with short walk to beach and restaurants. We were slightly misled by online advertising. Apt 3, top floor (as requested-good). Yes the apartment was very clean and spacious with welcome food pack and superb 180degree views. We had a hirecar from airport and for sightseeing but a taxi or a good half hour walk (each way) was necessary to enjoy a choice of restaurants in Yalikivak or car if you don't drink. There were a couple of basic, local bar/cafes/shops within walking distance but only for the bare necessities. Four good supermarkets within a mile or two. The only public areas of beach (not very inviting - no facilities, sunbeds etc) were squeezed in between a number of hotel all with their opposing nightime entertainment sound systems - particulalrly the French hotel (the loudest) with a very repetitive schedule, with continuous compere (in French) most of the night!
