My partner and I spent a week at the hotel with a group trip we were on. Check-in for the group was great--everything seemed very efficient and all of the rooms were ready even though it was early afternoon. Our room was on the fourth floor facing inside. We were also in a corner, so we had virutally no view.... more

We were shocked when we saw our room. It was very small, dark and damp. Luckily we had ear plugs with us, because we would not have been able to sleep without them. The noise from the road was tremendous. The hotel staff was unfriendly and unhelpful. We wanted to book a few tours, but couldn t find any information.... more

Yes, like most hotels in this pricerange in B.A. , the hotel has a slightly shabby or oldish look, but with style. It has the typical old world charm alot of hotels and buildings in BA have. Also, some rooms face not the street but a very small and dark yard. And yes, staff seem rather not too interested in... more

Old style hotel built in 1929, with lots of wood and highly polished brass, marble columns, lovely lobby with tasteful Christmas decorations. Deep bathtub, bath salts provided. Nice full breakfast buffet included. Free internet, but only one computer for a large hotel; it was always occupied. We are writing this review nine months later after looking at the most recent... more

Overall, a great value for such an old, historic, and yes, "charming" hotel. I was fortunate to be in one of the rooms at the end of a hallway, which is slightly larger than the others. Wish more of the staff spoke English. Wish there were more signs in English, especially in the spa downstairs. Wish there were latches on... more

4* hotel with reasonable facilities; decor from the 1920s but gives it charm. Buffet breakfast; worst scrambled egg we have ever had. Fresh towels twice a day, and most staff speak reasonable English. Security box on request. Good central location within walking distance to Playa de Mayo (main square). We opted for a room at the back of the hotel... more

don't expect much of a view. We had a room facing one of the "light shafts" so even though we were on the 7th floor we had to lean out the window to see the sky. I suppose room on top floors are a different story. And facing the street is probably nice. Anyways the room was very clean as... more

Pros: all cab drivers (except one!) knew the location, metro was right outside, nice lobby, friendly staff, not expensive, close (no more than 15 minutes on foot, cab, or train) to several attractions, including Plaza de Mayo, Casa Rosada, Cafe Tortoni, Confiteria La Ideal, the Obelisk, bank across the street, a few cafes and restaurants nearby, easy to get cabs... more

A group of us stayed in this hotel in Feb 08. The hotel looks nice from the outside and has a nice lobby but there's where it all ends. The lifts have a mind of their own. The rooms are all different; some smelly, some difficult to live in and most old and run down. The rooms have normal keys... more

Very depressing, old, moldy, tacky hotel. There rooms quiet honestly were disgusting with dirt on the walls and old curtains and bed spread. The tv was something out of the 1970's. The staff was very unhelpful- would not go out of there way at all to help you get somewhere or find something. Check out was 10 am on the... more
