Great concept. Modern functional rooms offering good range of services and facilities throughout hotel. Some interior decor could do with a refresh - photos on the web site paint a fresher image than in reality. Rooms quite small, functionable for short tourist stays. What can I say..... This place is totally unexpected due to the location in the middle of a historic part of BA - San Telmo. The 4 days I spent at the Axle was nothing far from relaxing...the beds, the pool, steam, sauna etc and even the bar down stairs. Hotels like this are rare not a full on atmosphere... more

Very stylish and modern. Predominantly gay clientèle, but I'm sure anyone can enjoy it, too. Lots of glass, water and led lights combined into a boutique hotel. This was my sixth stay at the hotel and it was a huge disappointment. There is a new manager, who seems to have gotten his personality in a car crash. No more bath robes or slippers. They expected me to hold onto a tiny bar of soap for 5 days, and toiletries wer enot being replaced. I ended up complaining... more

This is a summer hotel and that is probably the best time to stay, however we are frugal and like to travel off season.
