Great place, wonderful location. It’s hard to believe such a beautiful, secluded canyon exists so close to Phoenix. I’ve stayed at 1930s-era CCC camps before and was concerned it might be run down. This place is a 'resort' from another era. It's a workers' camp that was originally built during the building of the nearby dam in the 1930s. The lake is beautiful. The resturant has very good food and very large quanity's. Ride the boat around the lake. It is informative. I learned things I had never knew before. The whole trip is worth it. Can't say anything wrong about it. more

It was the most serene, quiet and refreshing vacation my husband and I have ever been on. The grounds are beautiful and well kept. It was the best vacation we have ever been on. It was great if you really want to kick back and relax. more
