We arrived in Tilcara and drove around a few places looking for somewhere nice to stay. The first thing I saw as I walked in the Patio Alto gates was a beautiful, green, enclosed lawn - a rare luxury when travelling with little kids! After having a look at the rooms (light & fresh, beautiful & clean, great views (all... More

Tilcara offers a variety of boutique hotels but this one is special in many ways: It combines a design approach with a personal style and a deliberate connection with local culture. Stunning views and great service make it the place to stay. All double rooms are great, with huge showers (good for two as well…) and views. Even the hostel... More

It's paradise for the traveller who goes from hostel to hostel. Here everything is perfectly thought for him. Dorms are so nice to live in. Big closet with locker. Finally,I could empty my suitcase! Shower is separate from toilet, separate from sinks. The beds are very comfortable. Everything is beautiful, easy and so clean. We profit of the luxury of... More

Patio alto and its host Pablo are great! The place is beautiful, very clean, homely, and has a very nice kitchen to cook for backpackers. The dorms are superb. For a backpacker the price seems to be a bit high, but you get so much for your money. The breakfast is excellent. An Felipe gives you all the information you... More

This is one of the most welcoming, comfortable, homely and relaxing places I have ever stayed at... The service is worthy of a 5-star hotel, the people who work there are genuine, incredibly helpful and very knowledgeable, and the facilities are stylish and comfortable. I would whole-heartedly recommend patio alto and would travel back to the Jujuy region again from... More

Everything about Patio Alto is a delight -- I was blown away by my experience, it ranks among my top 10 hotels worldwide and I have stayed in some real toppers (yes, I have been lucky enough to have traveled widely:) 10 stars for customer service -- the resident manager Pablo makes you feel like you are the only guest... Patio Alto host Pablo greeted us enthusiastically and throughout our stay was very helpful. He recommended hiking trails and restaurants and made sure we were comfortable in the Patio Alto 2 bedroom suite we stayed in. He even arranged for us to meet three llamas on their way back to town from another guest's expedition. Patio Alto sits on the... More

The shared rooms at Patio Alto are somewhere between the nicest hostel I've ever seen and a boutique, super-luxurious hotel that I'd only go to on special occasions. They have all the little conveniences that makes a traveler's life so much easier – huge lockers, lots of hooks, shelves, and compartments, plenty of outlets in convenient places, toiletries, a separate... I meant to write this review one year ago but am on a review-athon after my returning from another trip. I was absolutely delighted with Patio Alto. As a back packer staying in the hostel section, I thought I would be spit on at a place like Patio Alto but the manager explained the owner's philosophy for the inn -... More
