We are so happy we decided to stay at Casa Hernandez during our honeymoon in Argentina. It is an extremely charming and comfortable ranch style home in the outskirts of Salta (much preferred to staying in Salta!), surrounded by beautiful natural scenery . You can read more about the actual house, area, and really affordable rates on their website. What... more

I arrived late at Casa Hernandez, because I had a problem with the car rental company when I landed in Salta. Alex and Rijkje were waiting for me. My plan was to go to Tilcara, las Salinas Grandes, Cachi, Cafayate and back to Salta. They had advised me to spend one day in Salta between the North and the South... more

We had a wonderful one night stay at Casa Hernandez. Alex and Rijke were the most gracious hosts. Thanks to their recommendations, we had one of our favorite meals during our four week Argentina stay (local parilla whose name escapes me now). We also were recommended lodgings outside of Cachi (La Playa - another unexpected precious gem)! Casa Hernandez location... more

We had come by bus from Chile and had a 6 hour "bloqueo" on the way so it was nearly midnight when we arrived (we'd phoned to explain). The warm welcome helped to restore our very jaded spirits and the only pity was that we were there only 2 nights. And such good value! We also thought San Lorenzo was... more

And it really is the best B&B you could ever wish to stay at. After problems with our flights we ended up arriving a day late but Alex the host, sat us down in his beautiful garden with a cold beer and helped us plan our stay in Salta. He gave us great advice about places to visit, booked a... more

My daughter and i arrived to Casa Hernandez after a 20 hour bus trip from BA. What a relief to have Alex open the gate with his cherry smile and warm welcome. After helping us get change to pay the cab.....(always have change if possible) we were shown our room, very nice by the way, and Alex and Reika helped... more

The best part about our stay in salta were alex and rijkje, expats from Holland who are fluent in most languages including english. From the moment we arrived (early) they devoted their constant time and service to us. Even though there are five rooms we felt like we were their only guests. The part that is so important is that... more

My wife and I reserved 5 non-continuous nights with Casa Hernandez as our base for a driving tour of the Northwest including the Quebrada de Cafayate and Quebrada de Humahuaca. The quiet San Lorenzo location was perfect for our purposes. Salta was easily and inexpensively accessible by a nearby direct local bus. An excellent restaurant, a good pizzeria, great ice... more

I selected this B&B based on the excellent reviews on Trip Advisor but was still a little bit concerned before arrival because of the low rates being offered. Well, no worries, the experience was fabuous in every regard - the other reviewers have said it all. We really enjoyed meeting the other guests who represented a real mix of age... more

Having stayed in dozens of B and Bs world wide, without reservation we recommend Casa Hernandez. The location in San Lorenzo is perfect with quick bus or taxi into Salta. Alex and Rijkje are the best hosts one can find. It is a great bargain at twice the present prict. Comrotable beds and wonderful louging areas. What a respite from... more
