From our arrival everything was perfect. At front Desk during check in inmedatelly I was greeted by my family name and in a few minutes I was being escorted to my room. All the staff was very friendly and helpfull. Next morning buffet breakfast was superb. The rooms were splendid, the location excellent, the best ever experience of any hotel. more
Our visit in El Calafate was exceptional. The great winner is, of course, the environment. The hotel is a good one, clean, but unfortunately the service is not 5 stars. The breakfast is poor and impersonal. What was the worst - 100 USD stolen from my room during the night services consisting in 2 bombons and no order in the... more
We were booked into this hotel when my orginal choices were not available for the dates we were in El Calafate. On the positive side, the beds were the largest we found while traveling in Patagonia. The bed linens were superior also. The bathroom was nice and the exhaust fan was more than adequate. Not sure what the Kempinski was... more
The hotel is a modern and even is a chain-hotel the size makes it familiar. The staff is very friendly and the breakfast was good. The indoor swimming pool is great. The minus, would be that the hotel is not in the center of Calafate, but is not that far and cabs are quite cheap. more
I just stayed at Kempinski with two children. I was afraid what it was going to be like due to negative reviews at this site, but ended up booking it, because they have a website where you can book online. Some of the other hotels in the area that I tried to book never got back to me or would... more
This hotel is best avoided. It's simply not worth the money. On arrival your eyes are assaulted by the tackiest foyer in hotel history....that in itself is not so bad, indeed it does give you a laugh. However the hotel lets itself down badly in many respects and that's why we suggest you look elsewhere. The telvisions don't really work.... more
We stayed at the Kempinski for three nights at the end of March 2007. Given the extremely high price and nice looking pictures (clearly taken by some sort of marketing genius) we had four star expectations and were met with two stars at best. The hotel is cheaply built, very loud and has god-awful food. The breakfast looks as though... more
We booked the hotel 4 months ahead of our stay in mid March and after reading some of the reviews in February I started to worry about my decision to stay there. After staying there for 4 nights, I have to say that it was the right decision and we did not encounter any problems, cetainly not issues like dirty... more
This hotel was a very nice, clean, modern hotel with nice amenities. The bed was really comfortable and had nice bedding. It is missing a few things that a 5 star hotel (or whatever they think it is) should have: full length mirror, make-up mirror, robes, slippers. I couldn't get close to a mirror to put on my make-up! I... more
