Prices for hotels in El Calafate are quite high (it's supposedly the most expensive city in Argentina and I don't doubt it). If you've never visited the southern part of Patagonia, this hosteria is a very nice place to start from. Just a 5 minute walk from the (touristy) main street. In this quiet neighourhood where you can feel the wind and enjoy the marvellous colours of the sky and of the enormous Lago Argentino and experience the vastness of the country.... more
