My daughter and I are local Phoenicians. We had heard tremendous things regarding the Intercontinental Montelucia Resort and Spa; so we did a "mother/daughter" spa day (my daughter's Birthday treat to me). It was fabulous! We were treated as if we were royal. It was very relaxing, with beautiful spa rooms, a private outdoor spa pool facing Camelback Mountain, with... more

As a local it's hard to find someplace in town that makes you feel like you are out of town. The InterContinental Monteclucia was a great place to escape and feel like I was in a different city. It offered everything I needed to decompress and just relax with my husband. Pure bliss 20 minutes from home. more

Visited this resort with my company for am annual retreat. I have gone on these trips the past few years and its usually to a luxury property such as this. I was excited because I have family nearby in Scottsdale and had heard good things. I have seen: nice beds, nice rooms, and nice grounds (all of which this resort... more

My husband and I had never been to Arizona before but since we are familiar with (and generally like) Intercontinental hotels in Europe, we decided to give the Montelucia a try for a visit that was just short of two weeks. We are stationed overseas with the government and were on "home leave" so we were able to get the... more

This property bills itself as a 5-star resort but falls short, although the staff is well-trained to be very friendly and welcoming. The Hilton/Marriott crowd will be "wowed" by this place; the Four Seasons crowd will find it okay and wish that they were at the Four Seasons instead. The concept behind the resort is a cool one: a resort... more

From 2 stars to 5 stars, I've stayed in all types of hotels around the world and have never felt compelled to write a review, good or bad. My stay at the Montelucia was truly that exceptional. Located at the foot of Camel Back mountain, staying at the Montelucia feels more like an Andalusian resort on the coast of southern... more

From the second I stepped out of the car onto this property, I could tell every detail had been tended to, and that this property was extremely well taken care of. The grounds, pools, and the views are in one word; immaculate! I stayed at the Montelucia during a business trip which involved long hours, but I felt even more... more

My stay was absolutely incredible! I was here on business but I have to admit it felt like the vacation of a lifetime. I simply could not believe the consistent attention to detail, backyard views of the Camelback Mountains (the resort could not have been placed more perfectly), and inspiring food from their world-class Prado restaurant. Form flight in to... more

The buildings and gardens where exceptional but the same cannot be said for the service. Although booked well in advance we were initially placed in a room on a family area (not ideal for 2 guys) and when moved we were put in a back room with a dark back yard (looks like something you would hang your washing out... more

We ended our stay in Arizona with one night at the Intercontinental Montelucia, where, apparently, the Obamas stayed earlier this year. The hotel is beautiful. Even the most inexpensive room (the one we booked) was beautifully appointed with Moorish influences. The bed was incredibly comfortable, as were the robes. My husband was afraid that the hotel was going to feel... more
