We were looking for unique "non-chain" places to stay on a trip to Carlsbad Caverns. Group of four stayed in eight different establishments in eleven days, ranging from 2 cabins for 2, 50’s era travel trailers to casino hotel. Enjoyed them all and wished we had more time in each. However, the GWH is without a doubt one of the best experiences we have had, (trips including Alaska, Tahiti, Canada and Hawaii). The house was built in 1902 which is fairly old for Arizona but does have all the modern conveniences. We don’t think any pictures would do justice to the GWH, it is beautiful and very comfortable. We did not have the opportunity to meet Winston however, Jackie along with her helper Tundra is an excellent host. The only thing you really need to bring is fresh vegetables and meat, Jackie provides everything else you could need. This is the kind of place you visit to rest your soul and rejuvenate your mind.
