We stayed at Mountain Shadows Marriott Resort & Golf Club in December 2003 for a friends wedding. We enjoyed a day at the golf course, a couple of days at the pool and several meals at the restaurant. The restaurant was a bit expensive, but given it was a Marriott in Scottsdale, that is to be expected. more

Our primary purpose for this trip was to play golf, but as a couple we also wanted to have nice evening meals and a bit of sunbathing too. Mountain Shadows had all of this. We were central for some amazing local courses. We also played several times on the resorts 9 hole short course, which was a cute course to... more

Marriott's Mountain Shadows was one of my favorite hotels. When I stayed, my room overlooked the golf course, and was huge. You could have had ballroom dancing in the bathroom, it was that big! The pools were lovely and placed conveniently around the grounds - easy to slip out for an early morning or late evening dip. The location was... more

We (41, 37, 4) stayed here for two nights 20th and 21st July 2004. Our room had a pool view but was really small. We were out all day otherwise would have been very uncomfortable in the room. There was a very loud vent in the bathroom which is not kid-friendly and the airconditioning was not adequate for the very... more

Spent 3 days here July 2004 and it was just delightful. My room was in the outermost circle of rooms that surround the main pool, so it was quiet, but an easy walk to the pool. Beautiful view from my patio - a large expanse of green grass, the pool, and Camelback Mtn. Don't understand the room criticisms - maybe... more

Ok, after reading all the reviews about this hotel from the readers I was somewhat worried. My wife and I stayed there over the Memorial day weekend and found this hotel a very pleasent place to stay. From the time we check in to the check out the staff was very helpful and friendly. When we asked if we could... more

We stayed at the Marriott at Mountain Shadows during Memorial Day weekend 2004 and found our stay to be very enjoyable. The front desk staff and the bellmen were very courteous and helpful to us. The room was a nice size and very comfortable for our family. It was not luxurious, but it was very comfortable. The grounds were Gorgeous... more

In my opinion, this resort is located in a prime location of scottsdale. The convenience of the resort was far more appealing than the outdated indoor and outdoor decor of the hotel. The grounds were splendidly maintained, but the rooms, despite their large size, were in dire need of refurbishment. It was like being lost in a 1960's television show... more

We stayed at the Marriott Mountain Shadows Resort Memorial day weekend of 2003. By the price - $82 a night - I knew it was the "homelier" sister of the Marriott Camelback, which was right across the street. Homlier - yes - but it was FABULOUS!!! I loved the cement block motel look to it. It brought me back to... more

Although the public facilities were in good condition, the rooms were not. I was extremely disappointed by the condition of the rooms. Basically this is a complex of cement block motel rooms built in the early 1960s charging resort prices. This is a run down facility that is in dire need of renovation. I would not recommend it. Also, if... more
