Like a lodge from the sixties, which I guess it is. We really didn't like much about the town, too much pavement, luxury condos and full of bad art and crystal vortex healing arts shops (sorry...) but Sky Ranch was like a trip back in time it's location saved the trip for us. We absolutely loved the Sky Ranch Lodge. While it wasn't a modern "fancy" hotel, it had all the amenities we needed. A large room with a fantastic view, a fireplace (very romantic!), a kitchenette, and clean bathroom. We loved being able to sit on our porch/balcony to watch the sunset each night. This hotel isn't modern and plush but it was my favourite hotel on our Arizona/Utah tour. It has fantastic views, lovely gardens, pool and hot tub were lovely after hiking. Ok I picked it from TripAdvisor because of the view and the great price. I expected it to be old and it was. It was a bit run down but very clean so we were happy and loved the old school western feel of it. I heard the place was built around 1981 and the vegetation is grown up nicely... more

Views are excellent. Room was superior to most of our accomodations on the trip. Exceptional value for Sedona. Gardens were a welcome change from the desert scenery. No dining on site, but the airport dining room was very close and food was delicious. more

Highly recommend this lodge, reserve a "Rim View" room. The grounds are gorgeous, not your average lodge. Although I will admit the beds were rather hard. more

Although this hotel is dated in it's decor, it was exceptionally clean and well maintained. The grounds are beautiful! It is right next to the airport, but we didn't hear any planes other than the small craft airshow which was held while we were there. In room coffee maker is a big plus! This is not for you if you are looking for pillow top beds and room service. But if you want the best views in town and a clean room you will not be disappointed. Mark at the desk when we checked in couldn't have been more friendly and helpful. I had expected a great view but was totally in awe... more
