Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Stayed at one of the villas. The room was like a dark, dank cave. When we opened the door, we were blasted with a moldy/mildew smell. It smelled like a moldy basement. The villa faced the creek and was down in a dark hole. There was no sunlight in the unit, no windows, other than the slider door and a skylight. Cabinets, floor, furnishings are dark. Couch and recliner chair are dirty and broken down. It looked like college apartment furniture. The dishwasher had slimy, purple mildew in it. The towels were stained and looked like they had been used to wipe the floor. Disgusting. Spiders crawling up the walls in the bedroom and bathroom. Front desk person was rude and unaccommodating. The only good thing about this place is that it is quiet and the kitchen had a good assortment of flatware, dishes, utensils, and bowls.

This place is like heaven on earth. The back lawn and pond area is so beautiful and soooo impressive. This is like definitely spiritual and majestic scenery. Tracy the front desk lady is the best person to ever talk to and is sooo very nice. She even went above and beyond and bought us a bottle of Cider for our anniversary. This place can't be beat. THIS IS A MUST STAY

Plus: Spacious rooms. The bed was comfortable and our room was cool and quiet. a quaint backyard with a great view into the wilderness with gushing sounds of the streams. Not so good: -Lots of tiny cockroaches, we were ok with them, but i did share this concern with the reception and they were a bit surprised... apparently pest control was done recently -also room we were in was a bit dated

Thank you so much for taking the time to provide us with such a review of our resort, your time is valuable, and we truly appreciate it. This time of the year is when we get the most moisture due to the monsoon season. Yes, we do employ a professional pest control company to handle regular treatment, so we apologize for the bugs, it is not the norm for us. Thank you for staying with us. We look forward to seeing you again. Martin Ebel – General Manager

We truly enjoyed the venue and the accommodations. Our studio unit was plenty spacious for two of us, as were the amenities, like the bath, closet, kitchen area, fridge, lounging area, and patio. Access to the large patio right on the creek is wonderful with two gas BBQ's and an ice machine. Great staff, all areas very clean, great walking areas and the resort next door has great facilities all available to The Villas visitors.

This place was a hidden gem. I booked a studio last minute for an affordable rate. It had everything I needed. A living room area w/ TV , small fridge, stove and kitchen items for cooking. A dishwasher, comfortable king size bed and a jacuzzi tub. Also had a porch with seating for 2. Didn't get to use the Pool and outdoor jacuzzi but they had that too. I had a wonderful stay!

great front desk check in, but for the price, cannot check in before 4pm, and no late check outs, so 4pm-11am = 19 hours....ummm, stay for awhile its not a good place just for a night. The furnishings are old, dated and a bit worn, but serviceable, the kitchenette well stocked(but we had to do the dishes...) the lighting extremely dim. The grounds were beautiful and well kept. Overall a nice place....but having to drive into town was a letdown....

Our experience at the Villas was absoutely wonderful. The room was spotless, the blood orange toiletries smelled amazing, the bed was devine, and the view from our patio of the beautiful red rocks and pond with the sounds of chirping birds and croaking frogs was incredibly soothing. I would stay here again in a heartbeat.

The location and ambience are exceptional. We loved being right on Oak Creek. Great location close to everything but still a quiet, small property. This place is relaxing and beautiful without all the noise and activity of larger resorts. Our 1 bedroom was perfect for a couple and would have worked okay if we had guests staying on the sofa bed. The bed and bedroom were comfortable, lighting was great, internet service worked perfectly for phones and laptops and there were nice little outlets to charge our devices in the bedroom and living space. Tracy at the front office was very welcoming, helpful and accomodating and everyone on staff was very pleasant and accomodating. The kitchen fit our needs well even without an oven and the dishes, tableware, pots and pans and utensils were all good, loved the induction stove top. Bring your own tupperware for leftovers. I was tempted to take off 1 star because the upholstered couch and arm chair could use a thorough cleaning (a replacement would be even better) as they looked dingy and we could smell body odor on the couch....eeew. But our stay was so nice that the smelly couch was just an afterthought. Covering it with a blanket took care of the smell. We didn't use the pool or jacuzzi but they were a nice temperature and the area around them was comfortable for lounging and enjoying the quiet and beauty of the area. We were able to walk to a nearby trail (Raven's Cave, aka Windy Caves) and enjoyed the gorgeous views of the red rocks. More adventurous hikers explored the caves and ventured down to the creek.
