Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

First, I'm a corporate travel consultant with hundreds of hotel stays to compare this with. This hotel is under construction for remodel and should not be open. Started with no front desk - had to lug bags to the far back entrance. Unable to check-in with my mobile app. Elevator walls torn apart with "danger" signs, no ice machines working - travelled to five of six floors. Shower head broken, shuttle not running for early 6am flight, had to uber. Could not get lower floor due to construction and got stuck on the top floor where the planes landing at PHX sounded like they were in the room. I'm sorry for the rant, but this was just awful. Hopefully the hotel reaches out to me about the stay. It was a complete waste of my Hyatt points, and I am shocked there was no communication from the hotel.

The whole hotel was under construction. We were in a “remodeled” room and it was so poorly done. The Hyatt quality I’m used to was miles away. Suuuuper small beds. The pull out sleeper sofa was horribly uncomfortable and loud. The a/c unit only blew cold air. Then we had to park amongst construction equipment while we parked and flew. The staff was very kind to make up for the quality of the facility but for nearly $400 a night, I could have been in something much more high end. Don’t rely on the photos on the booking website. They are extremely deceiving!!

Renovations are near ending but the hotel was in poor condition. Lobby bathroom (unisex) had no toilet paper or towels to dry hands off. Staff was very good and accommodating - only redeeming quality.

Let me start by saying that this hotel has no interest in welcoming guests. I cannot believe that they would be under full construction and still anticipate a positive guest experience. To start, the staff is VERY unhelpful and has no idea what is happening. The front door is not working, you have to carry all of your luggage to the back door just to check in. They have a very cluttered and disorganized room for check in. They did not offer water or any complimentary service given the condition their hotel is in. No discount. The hotel is DIRTY, loud and dysfunctional. YOU HAVE TO HAVE A FRONT DOOR. The elevator: They have 2 elevators, both of which are VERY slow. Currently, they have one elevator designated for guests and one for construction. Almost every time we entered the elevator there were construction workers and supplies in the GUEST elevator. This made it crowded, and impossible to get up or down the floors quickly. And why were we not able to use the "construction" elevator. The pool was closed and padlocked. Not even as a seating area. There was no Shampoo in the shower. Even after we requested that it be refilled. 7 nights went by and there is still no shampoo. The wifi did not work the entire WEEK of our stay. I asked the front desk, and they told me it was because I was on a certain side of the building?? I would think for the price of this place, that wifi should work EVERYWHERE. They had the entire lobby disassembled, but didn't accommodate by providing any alternative seating. There was trash everywhere and caution tape. They never emptied the trash in the lobby. The balcony was COVERED with bird poop because they didn't have the protection on the sign that most hotels have. This hotel is already in a TERRIBLE part of town, very close to the airport and with NOTHING that is walking distance for entertainment or food. You would think that they would make the stay enjoyable if there was nothing to offer. While I realize that construction must be completed, why are you doing this in the middle of Spring Training season??? With multiple events going on in town. This should be a reasonable project for summer when no one is visiting this hotel. Most disappointing of all was the service and lack of consideration for guests that are with family to enjoy a vacation. This made our experience awful. There is not one single aspect of this trip that was enjoyable or that I would rate higher that TERRIBLE.

Just too close to the airport. The constant landing and departing of planes made it a horrible stay. I am not exaggerating when I say that a plane was landing or departing every 30 seconds. It didn't stop until about 1 am and started again at around 6 am. The worst weekend I've had in Phoenix, and I've been going for the last 14 years. Oh, and the place was under construction.

Dear rubixcubix2024, Thank you for your review. We apologize that your stay was negatively affected by our close proximity to Sky Harbor airport. While the flight paths and schedules into and out of the airport are unfortunately outside our control, we do notice that you are a World of Hyatt member so we are adding your preference for a room in a quiet location so we can better meet your needs on all future Hyatt stays. We truly appreciate your feedback and we hope you give us another opportunity to serve you in the future.

This hotel was great!! Free shuttle survive from the airport and anywhere within a 3 mile radius. Hotel held our bags until our flight was ready. Staff was so friendly and helpful. Rooms were very clean. Pool was clean too!! Obviously near the airport so you do hear the planes but it was a very quiet hotel and the nights we stayed were sold out. Safe area to walk around. Overall A+

Be advised, this hotel is under renovation construction but not advertised to be. An informative email was sent 24 hours advance, however, with that destination, no other hotel was available to book, so cancellation was not a viable alternative. The room was nice, everything else not, but still charged for the "nice" price. :(

Dear Valdine M, Thank you for your review. We apologize that your stay was in any way negatively affected by our renovation. We do have a large notice at the top of our website letting all guests know about our renovation but in today's online world we do realize that people often scroll past these notices without checking them. We do send our pre-arrival emails as an additional notice and we will continue to work on improving our communication with our guests based off your feedback. It is our sincere hope you will give us another opportunity to serve you after our renovation is complete.

Went during remodel and the noise wasn’t the worst part, the service was. The location is convenient and the rooms were okay if a bit dated, however the windows were unscreened and lead out to dangerous short balcony - as a person with children this was horrifying

Dear naplmt, Thank you for your feedback. We're sorry to hear you did not enjoy your stay. We do have rooms with balconies that provide great views of Camelback Mountain and Papago Park but these all have high railings to prevent any danger. We hope you will visit us again in the future. We are always happy to accommodate with a standard/non-view room with no balcony if you are ever uncomfortable with your room.

While they don't hide that they're fully under construction, the fact that the points rate continues to be on-par with similar properties that are not under construction is deceptive. Do not be deceived by the fact that for the same number of points, you can stay here, or somewhere that's not a complete construction zone. The rooms are not currently impacted, in fact they're clean and updated and lovely. But for my points, I would recommend choosing another property. There is absolutely no lobby, you enter through the back, and there are plywood walls lining the halls on the ground level. They have clearly tried to create functional spaces, and staff were very warm, friendly, and accommodating. Until they announce that construction is complete, spend your points elsewhere.
