Just got back from the Corcovado Jungle Eco Lodge in the southern part of Costa Rica. What an amazing experience! We stayed at The Corcovado Jungle Eco Lodge - a warm and welcoming place that provided a comfy bed and a hot shower. Why mention a hot shower? Because it's the only resort with one in the jungle - it... more

My 8 year old son and I stayed at this lodge for 5 nights. While we were there we had the best eco-experience ever. It all started from the minute we stepped off the plane in Drake Bay where Carlos the owner met us to take us on our adventure. Once we arrived on property after a short ride he... more

Sitting in front of the hut and listing to the sound ot the forest, was the best way to enjoy the forest - true - but, we had the feeling, that we were the first guests for months. The best time of the lodge and also of Carlos the host are gone - thats obvious. So we werent really surprised... more

We took a family trip to the Corcovado Jungle Eco Lodge for two weeks last Feburary. This was an amazing experience to stay right in the middle of the rainforest. We arrived in San Jose and then took a small airplane to Drake Bay, It was different because we landed on a dirt road in the middle of nowhere. We... more

Let me start by saying that we are very experienced international and jungle travelers that do not require plush accomodations. At this lodge's rates, it is in-line with other mid-range lodges. That’s the level of accommodation and meals we expected. What we had was many steps below. My exact words within two minutes after arriving were “We’re paying a decent... more

To say that our accommodations are the same as the mid-range hotels on the beach is untrue. Nowhere on the beach can you find accommodations with stocked mini bar, coffee maker, refrigerator, fans, private bath with hot water for $15 even most of the places you pay over $100 per/night don't have this and with us they were only paying...

We visited Corcovado Jungle Eco Lodge right after Christmas (2007) The adventure really began as we arrived at the Sansa Terminal at the San Jose Airport. I had never flown on a small aircraft before and was quite apprehensive but my family kept reminding me of our “ADVENTURE”! After we were in the air and my nerves were a bit... more

As advertised, the lodge is set in a patch of secondary forest on a plateau above Bahia Drake. Accommodations are simple and rustic, perfectly suited to the location and contributing nicely to the sense of being at the edge of a deep wilderness. Countless butterflies and birds, including tanagers, cuckoos, green parrots, toucans, and macaws, visit the grounds or live... more

We just got back from a stay at Corcovado Jungle Eco Lodge. The area around Drake Bay is fabulous. Rural and mostly undeveloped. I was generally satisfied with the stay, but a few things to consider: 1) More likely to appeal to backpackers. Don't expect Hilton-style accommodations. 2) A local, family business. 3) Meals are quite good and plenty of... more

This place was most disapointing. It was loud, dirty, and the food was was horrible. While there are some nice close by places, the surrounding area is bleak. Don't believe it if you are told that this place is an easy walk to the ocean. Don't believe it if you are told there is abundant wild fruit, or nuts to... more
