We heard about Aravaipa Farms (pronounced "air-a-vie-pa" from an article in the newspaper. It was raving about this small B&B in Winkelman (south east part of Arizona). I thought "how could we have missed this so called treasure in our own backyard?" Well we decided to visit and just returned from a 3 nite stay (June 26-28).
This place is a true hidden jem. It was about a 2 1/2 hour drive from our home in Ahwatukee (SE valley) and a very scenic drive at that. The property is very secluded and you do have to cross a small running creek to access the property. Normally, it should not be an issue but at times if the water is running high, you may feel safer in an SUV or truck versus a low sitting sedan.
The property has 5 casitas (not the 2 as mentioned on the Trip Advisor home page) plus it has a separate single family residence for rent (3 bedrooms, 2 1/2 baths, gourmet kitchen, etc.). We toured the house - it was very nice. The casitas...
