I don't know where these 1-star reviewers were staying, but there is no WAY it was the same place my wife and I stayed. My wife and I celebrated our anniversary at the Windchime. What a whimsical delight when we opened the door to this cottage. We are always quite pleased with Enchanted Cottages. We live just an hour away in NW Arkansas and Eureka is our private getaway. The location is wonderful. Yes, you do have a 10 minute walk to town and you do have to climb stairs to get back up the hill to the cottages, but it's worth every minute. The cottages... more

I must admit that I was more than a little scared about staying here, since I read a few previous reviews AFTER booking and paying for our stay - but we couldn't have been more pleased with our stay. People thinking of staying in a cottage / cabin need to realize that is what it is - not a hotel.... more

Upon arriving we should have known that this would not be a good place to stay. First it was not close to town like I was told. Second it was so hard to find ,the owner wouldn't even give us directions. She insisted on meeting us and leading us there. Once there we asked to see the cottages. Because of... more

Enchanted Cottages is just a 2 1/2 block walk to the downtown...since we are hard to find, I always mail or fax a map and very detaled directions if possible...when last minute guests (who did not receive our map and directions) arrive at night, I alwys offer to drive to meet them so they don't get lost...most of our guests...

My husband and I stayed at Enchanted Cottages (Windchime Cottage) in July of 2007. The cottages were not as close to town as we were told. A VERY winded walk. The Windchime was a work in progress. Enchanted Cottages is a 2 1/2 block to the downtown...Eureka Springs is a very hilly town, and yes, I agree that walking around in Eureka Springs is very strenuous...parking is also very scarce, so most of our guest like the idea that they can walk to the downtown...Windchime is not a "work in progress"...there are not "spaces under the outside...

My husband and I stayed in the Birdsong cottage at Enchanted Cottages for our honeymoon weekend in April of 2005. The cottage was HUGE and clean, and fully stocked!
